PAR Scoring in Kettering, Northampton, UK

We provide a PAR scoring service and have successfully passed an appropriate calibration test and have documentary evidence of this.

Peer Assessment Rating (PAR scoring) is applied to the pre and post treatment study casts. Scores are assigned to different occlusal traits, these scores are them summed to obtain a numerical value which then represents the degree of success you and you patient have achieved with their treatment. A low score, 2 being the realistic lowest indicates a good outcome. A higher score usually not more than 50 being a poor outcome.

Some Primary Care Trusts (PCT) will ask for you to par score a number of your cases so they are able to assess your success rate. However it can also be a very useful assessment tool in your own practice, maybe your trying a new bracket system or appliance and wish to see if there are any differences in treatment outcomes, or you just wish to monitor your or your associate’s treatment success to help promote standards.

We are able to PAR score cases on a regular basis in small numbers (recommended) 10 – 20 cases or annually. You can send your cases to us in our lab; we suggest that you send the cases via courier (sorry return of models is excluded from free P&P due to weight). Collection locally may be available, or we can arrange to visit you at your premises for a large number of cases i.e. more than 50, please contact for a quote.

What we need:

You just send pre and post treatment study models for each case with patient number and or name, and dated and any other information you feel we will require, and we will then do the rest. We can send you back the results in paper form with the cases or digital (E-Mail) inc in price, or on a CD for a small fee. If you wish us to create a nomogram chart of the results over a set period this can also be done.
